The Citizen

Director Roland Vranik assigned the color grading work of his first feature (Black Brush – 2005) to Karmazin Films’ senior colorist Eszter Nagy, and their successful collaboration led to the dark comedy winning the Feature of the Year award at the Hungarian National Film Awards that year. Vranik once again turned to Nagy in 2016 to do grading work on his latest feature The Citizen, which follows Wilson, who – after losing his entire family to the horrors of war and making the perilous journey to Europe as a political refugee – settles for a sedate life as a security guard in a Budapest shopping center. However, Wilson is driven by a quest: to become a model Hungarian citizen and to do so at any cost.
